Dr. Stephen Hessel is at the leading edge of Spanish literary studies, serving as an Associate Professor in the Department of Modern Languages and Literatures at Ball State University. With a robust academic background, Dr. Hessel has been contributing to the department since 2019, where he also fulfills the role of Assistant Chairperson. His academic journey is marked by a Ph.D. in Spanish Literature from the University at Buffalo, which laid the foundation for his extensive research and teaching career. Before joining Ball State University, Dr. Hessel honed his teaching and research skills at the University of Missouri, where he served as an Assistant Professor of Spanish and an Assistant Teaching Professor.
