Dr. Mwatabu Okantah is pursuing novel approaches in the fields of Pan-African Studies and Creative Writing as an Assistant Professor and Assistant Chairperson in the Department of Africana Studies at Kent State University. With a robust academic foundation, Dr. Okantah earned his Bachelor of Arts in English and African Studies from Kent State University and further honed his craft with a Master of Arts in Creative Writing from the City College of New York. A prolific author, Dr. Okantah has been recognized with numerous honors for his literary contributions, reflecting his deep commitment to exploring and expressing the complexities of the African and African American experience. His work often bridges the gap between academia and the broader community, making significant impacts in both spheres.
